Three days later, while all of them were still in pain, two of Jacob's sons, Simeon and Levi, Dinah's brothers, took their swords and attacked the unsuspecting city, killing every male.

Because your heart was responsive and you humbled yourself before God when you heard what he spoke against this place and its people, and because you humbled yourself before me and tore your robes and wept in my presence, I have heard you, declares the LORD.

because they turned from following him and had no regard for any of his ways.

The trees of the field will yield their fruit and the ground will yield its crops; the people will be secure in their land. They will know that I am the LORD, when I break the bars of their yoke and rescue them from the hands of those who enslaved them.

They seized their flocks and herds and donkeys and everything else of theirs in the city and out in the fields.

Moses was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights without eating bread or drinking water. And he wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant--the Ten Commandments.

They will no longer be plundered by the nations, nor will wild animals devour them. They will live in safety, and no one will make them afraid.

Then Jacob said to Simeon and Levi, "You have brought trouble on me by making me a stench to the Canaanites and Perizzites, the people living in this land. We are few in number, and if they join forces against me and attack me, I and my household will be destroyed."

约西亚从以色列各处,将一切可憎之物,尽都除掉,使以色列境内的人,都侍奉耶和华他们的 神。约西亚在世的日子,就跟从耶和华他们列祖的 神,总不离开。
Josiah removed all the detestable idols from all the territory belonging to the Israelites, and he had all who were present in Israel serve the LORD their God. As long as he lived, they did not fail to follow the LORD, the God of their fathers.

Should God then reward you on your terms, when you refuse to repent? You must decide, not I; so tell me what you know.
