Do not tremble, do not be afraid. Did I not proclaim this and foretell it long ago? You are my witnesses. Is there any God besides me? No, there is no other Rock; I know not one."

就是因你们手所作的,在所去寄居的埃及地,向别神烧香惹我发怒,使你们被剪除,在天下万国中令人咒诅羞辱。
Why provoke me to anger with what your hands have made, burning incense to other gods in Egypt, where you have come to live? You will destroy yourselves and make yourselves an object of cursing and reproach among all the nations on earth.

Instead of carrying out your duty in regard to my holy things, you put others in charge of my sanctuary.

But now you have rejected and humbled us; you no longer go out with our armies.

All who make idols are nothing, and the things they treasure are worthless. Those who would speak up for them are blind; they are ignorant, to their own shame.

Have you forgotten the wickedness committed by your fathers and by the kings and queens of Judah and the wickedness committed by you and your wives in the land of Judah and the streets of Jerusalem?

This is what the Sovereign LORD says: No foreigner uncircumcised in heart and flesh is to enter my sanctuary, not even the foreigners who live among the Israelites.

"Very well, then," he said, "let it be as you say. Whoever is found to have it will become my slave; the rest of you will be free from blame."

You made us retreat before the enemy, and our adversaries have plundered us.

"'The Levites who went far from me when Israel went astray and who wandered from me after their idols must bear the consequences of their sin.

He and his kind will be put to shame; craftsmen are nothing but men. Let them all come together and take their stand; they will be brought down to terror and infamy.

"Therefore, this is what the LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, says: I am determined to bring disaster on you and to destroy all Judah.

然而他们必在我的圣地当仆役,照管殿门,在殿中供职,必为民宰杀燔祭牲和平安祭牲,必站在民前伺候他们。
They may serve in my sanctuary, having charge of the gates of the temple and serving in it; they may slaughter the burnt offerings and sacrifices for the people and stand before the people and serve them.

The blacksmith takes a tool and works with it in the coals; he shapes an idol with hammers, he forges it with the might of his arm. He gets hungry and loses his strength; he drinks no water and grows faint.

那定意进入埃及地,在那里寄居的,就是所剩下的犹大人,我必使他们尽都灭绝。必在埃及地仆倒,必因刀剑饥荒灭绝,从最小的到至大的都必遭刀剑、饥荒而死,以致令人辱骂、惊骇、咒诅、羞辱。
I will take away the remnant of Judah who were determined to go to Egypt to settle there. They will all perish in Egypt; they will fall by the sword or die from famine. From the least to the greatest, they will die by sword or famine. They will become an object of cursing and horror, of condemnation and reproach.

But because they served them in the presence of their idols and made the house of Israel fall into sin, therefore I have sworn with uplifted hand that they must bear the consequences of their sin, declares the Sovereign LORD.

The carpenter measures with a line and makes an outline with a marker; he roughs it out with chisels and marks it with compasses. He shapes it in the form of man, of man in all his glory, that it may dwell in a shrine.

I will punish those who live in Egypt with the sword, famine and plague, as I punished Jerusalem.

He cut down cedars, or perhaps took a cypress or oak. He let it grow among the trees of the forest, or planted a pine, and the rain made it grow.

None of the remnant of Judah who have gone to live in Egypt will escape or survive to return to the land of Judah, to which they long to return and live; none will return except a few fugitives."

Yet I will put them in charge of the duties of the temple and all the work that is to be done in it.

"What can we say to my lord?" Judah replied. "What can we say? How can we prove our innocence? God has uncovered your servants' guilt. We are now my lord's slaves--we ourselves and the one who was found to have the cup."

at the taunts of those who reproach and revile me, because of the enemy, who is bent on revenge.

Half of the wood he burns in the fire; over it he prepares his meal, he roasts his meat and eats his fill. He also warms himself and says, "Ah! I am warm; I see the fire."

"We will not listen to the message you have spoken to us in the name of the LORD!

They alone are to enter my sanctuary; they alone are to come near my table to minister before me and perform my service.

But Joseph said, "Far be it from me to do such a thing! Only the man who was found to have the cup will become my slave. The rest of you, go back to your father in peace."

All this happened to us, though we had not forgotten you or been false to your covenant.

From the rest he makes a god, his idol; he bows down to it and worships. He prays to it and says, "Save me; you are my god."

我们定要成就我们口中所出的一切话,向天后烧香、浇奠祭,按着我们与我们列祖、君王、首领在犹大的城邑中和耶路撒冷的街市上素常所行的一样,因为那时我们吃饱饭、享福乐,并不见灾祸。
We will certainly do everything we said we would: We will burn incense to the Queen of Heaven and will pour out drink offerings to her just as we and our fathers, our kings and our officials did in the towns of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem. At that time we had plenty of food and were well off and suffered no harm.

Then Judah went up to him and said: "Please, my lord, let your servant speak a word to my lord. Do not be angry with your servant, though you are equal to Pharaoh himself.
